The Integral Urban House This one is a hard book to fit into a category, since it's as much or more about urban homesteading as anything else, and it won't keep you alive if you wait until the crisis is happening before you start flipping through its pages. What it will do, if you read it (and put it to use) now, is a good deal more interesting. This is a handbook for putting together an urban homestead that produces most of the food needed by its owners, and wastes almost nothing. Gardening, rabbit and chicken raising, composting, and many other skills covered in detail. Invaluable.
